We are not even one full week into 2018, and we are certain that it is going to be a rocking year. In a few weeks, our Basic Mountaineering Course begins again, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to get back to teaching a group of eager mountaineering students.
Below you will see events in town, open spots in our club (we need two special individuals), and Bellingham branch news. Click on any photo to be whisked through the inter-webs to more information.

Snow Algae: Small Organisms, Big Impact
with Robin Kodner
The flier really says it all, but I will add that I think this is going to be a fantastic presentation. I’ve been super curious about snow algae, and look forward to learning more about the tiny organisms growing and thriving in our snow.

Lay-Back Weekend
Mt. Baker Ski Area and Glacier, WA
This 3 day event features a Skate Like a Girl Skate Jam, a Lay-Back Snowboard Contest, a Mountain Safety clinic and an evening of music, art and fundraising via silent auction. All proceeds from the event will go to the Changing Tides Foundation, B4BC, and The Coal Pad skatepark in Glacier. Click the photo for a whole lot of information including events for each of the three days.

Carol Frazey, Kerry Gustafson, and Maria Dalzot will present an interactive evening of learning essentials for running your best. These three presented last year and they’re back by popular demand. This knowledge could be useful in other activities, too.
